This is ridiculous! I swear like 3 or 4 of you had cameras. What's so hard about plugging them in and uploading them all at once? ... Anyways, I decided to maybe get the ball rolling and upload some pictures of my own. I took them with my camera phone so the quality is not that great; and because it was with my phone, I did not take very many. Hey! I think I can see the Chainman, see if you can spot him.

Pushing our van up a hill in Seattle, WA. The key word is trying. The process has been slow and hard going--especially for me. I have a lack of mental stimulation which, I think, is preventing me from coming up with, and enjoying, any new ideas. It all seems old, generic, and lazy. It also seems as though I have lost a certain familiarity with the genre. Is this bad news? Maybe. In the short term things are not getting done, so both time and activity are lost. In the long term, this period could manifest into something grand and new--which will most likely result in better songs. Hopefully the latter happens before all of our own personal enthusiasm in the band is lost. (And I'm not entirely sure I used the word "manifest" correctly, but you get the point.)

And in worse news. Our good friends Restrained are breaking up. This is one of the few local bands that I truly love. Everything about them is great from their recordings to their live show to their song writing to their style and sound--even their ear piercing feedback was befitting. Now that they are breaking up, I regret not having done more to support them. I want to wish them all the best of luck in their future projects. I also want to ask anybody reading this to do yourself a favor and go to their last show, or at least pick up both of their records, which are available at Http://www.glorykid.com/store.(While you're at it, go ahead and add a free Wunami demo to your cart.) Well that's about it.
Thanks.
-MattMatt Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03977611827925363332noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-34501031848957304572009-01-07T23:59:00.000-08:002009-01-08T16:00:54.975-08:00Winter Tour 09' Day 6: Denver, COThe show was nothing less than awesome. We played at the Blast O' Matt in Denver, CO. Which is also ran by by the great people of Bad People Records. Rudy the owner or what he like to call himself a "Care Giver" of the place. I mean, this joint was out of control. The store front where they have the record store was a house that was converted. And the actual venue was located behind it in a small warehouse that was converted as well, which included a small stage, huge overhead monitors and soundboard. This place was punk as fuck and it was totally d.i.y founded. We got a good reaction from the crowd and the local band Bankrobbers was amazing. They did a Strife cover(Blistered) and it went off. This was our second show playing on this tour with Harm's Way and Convicted. With the show going well and making a gang of new friends. Me, Chris, and Jordy went and had some awesome veggie Pho soup before the show started. Good Stuff, we ended up staying with Big Brian's Aunt's Cabin just outside of town. It was nice just relax and actually get some good sleep, a shower and some home cooked food. We are going to leave tonight to visit the Grand Canyon and take some pictures, maybe get some postcards. Who knows. This tour ain't over yet and we are sure as hell ain't through living out these days.Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-50023994559082664462009-01-05T11:21:00.000-08:002009-01-05T11:42:06.712-08:00Winter Tour 09' Day 3: Seattle, WAWe drove from Portland, OR right after the show. We got to Timm's(Trial) house only to find him looming us from his window on from the third story window. I split off from the van to stay with my dear friend's Sara and Alex at their apartment, and Blanche. I went with them to a gift exchange/vegan potluck with more Seattle natives while the rest of the boys went record shopping. Later in the day it began to snow. We had to wait for the rest of the doods to come scoop us up for the show, about an hour later we come to find out that they not only got lost they got stuck in the snow somewhere near the Space Neetle(which is the far and the opposite way from where we were at).

The show started off good. Was not a bad turn out for the weather outside, Abandon killed it as well as our friend's new band, Parasitic Skies. Unrestrained(Portland) was simply amazing. I have been waiting to see them for a good long time. It was awesome to finally meet those gentlemen in person. But the show started late and we were only able to play three songs. Which sucked because we have got such a good reaction from the croud that we did not get the last time we played here. Shit happens. But you know what, seeing all of our seattle friends that we have not seen in years made it all worth the trip. Thanks to everyone to came to hang out and came out to the show.Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-47867275989889827832008-12-12T23:45:00.001-08:002008-12-13T00:16:54.206-08:00Hello, Old Friend.
Its been too long since I have last posted on this platform. Well lots of updates and a lot of apologises for not recapping the last 4 shows we had enjoyed dearly, sorry. We are just so busy with "trying" to write for a new split with are planning with our dear friends Seven Generations. Its a hard time coming but we are working on material that is pretty far from the norm for us. Think Reach The Sky...yeah.

Also we are getting a few loose ends tightened up on our upcoming winter tour that we are so excited about. The last time we were suppose to hit the road well, it just became a series of problems I do not wish to go into right now but it seriously was a mess of a tour. This one the other hand seems to be coming together smoothly. The only obstacle now is transportation. We have made a bold decision to put our self's in the market for purchasing a van. Fick and I will be going to look at one on Sunday. Who knows what will happen. Fick is definitely the "mover and shaker" of this pack so I can honestly have peace of mind when it comes to a situation like this. I will have more updates as the news comes in about anything.

I can't promise we will be making weekly updates but I can promise that the updates will be consistent with any news or changes that come along with this outfit. And you can take that to the bank! Meanwhile I found some pictures from the last time we were on tour with Seven Generations. What a time.
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Playing with one of my favorite bands of all time. You know, I never thought I would be seeing this band in my lifetime, let alone playing with them the first time i've ever saw them. It was a very content feeling. The VX doods stayed at my house that night and it was awesome to just conversate with older heads that have been into hardcore almost longer than you have been in this world. I realised that europian folks are seriously out of their mind. When we pulled up to the apartment after the show. Alex, their bassist saw that my neighbor was selling his 66' Mustang. He must have been pondering over it all night for when the morning came around he was knocking on that man's door. Trying to get the dood to give him a test drive. HA! It was heilarious to see a Netherlandian haggle for a car that he had no idea how he was going to get it back to his own country. I can't wait until those guys come back. Below are some videos on us and VX. The feelings exchanged and the connections that were established between one another was so intense I seriously doubt I will ever forget this moment. So many familiar faces and yet so many I did not recognise. But I took it all the same as if I knew them just as long. Honestly I don't remember the last show we have preformed at that we received as much output from the crowd as we do. From the beginning of the day until the time of the show, the whole scene started to unfold exactly the way I predicted. All the memories that I have managed to remember are played back like scenes from a 90's 'coming of age' film. All I can recall is laughter and mixed conversations in contrasted with blurred faces and movements. All those conversations and human contact wrapped up all the images from the performance into a vivid slide. The damn of it all was that my dearest friend Kevan and my love Krystle were not there and able to watch our set, let me explain. During Restrained's set Kevan (front man) got a little too into his own while playing and he managed to dislocate his knee. Thus forth Krystle escorting him to the clinic and missing our set. He managed to make it back to the show but it was unfortunately too late. Rotting Out's set was simply amazing to say the least, I swear that band sounds more solid every time I see them. They displayed some of their newer material and it was really progressive for the the style they carry. The Sunset limited has to be one of the most underrated groups from the mid-southern Cali area. At one time they went by the name Johnny Cage. Now I can totally understand why they decided to change their name, seeing that when they started as a group it was merely a friend band project that no one thought was going to go any further than that. But hearing and seeing them live now, it is obvious that that have evolved into something more mature. Their style is totally innovative and is a breath of fresh air into what is the norm of hardcore today. I am very proud of how far they have come and honored they shared the floor with us that night. My body, my mind took so much abuse and it seriously feels like I had the shit kicked out of me by several foes. Even now it is hard for me to even bend down. But I guess that's how you know, I laid it all out on the line for everyone to see when we play, when all that is left from me is a tired soul surrounded by bruised bones and torn flesh. I think it has let us confront dimensions of each other's characters that we have never even known were there. There is a new understanding of what this band stands for. For what once started as five young Hispanic kids from the wrong side of the tracks just trying to get out of their lives one night at a time has now turned into a vessel for many of us (for many reason of their own) that can't. This is bigger than us now. And now seeing this, it only makes us want to play harder than ever before. Its cause of you we have the strength to open up. Thanks to everyone once again, past and present who have supported us.

with all of our hearts,
Andy, Big Brian, Matt, Fick and Jordy.
Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-70999380585884719822008-08-30T10:15:00.000-07:002008-08-30T12:39:43.754-07:00Can't Hardly Wait. Well two more days until the ceremony. I am progressively getting filled with a montage of emotions about this show. We have waited so long for this material to come together and finally see the light of day that it all seems so unreal at this point. Its also good to hear that a lot of our friends are coming out to support this special event. I can expect nothing short of temporary bliss. I feel as everything that night will be remembered in segments familiar to a 90's teen "coming of age" film where there is a camera man floating through the doorways and hallways capturing young angst socials engulfing the room's vibe. Passing by every face with with a blurred tint to the film. Laughter and unidentified yelling over the intermission music between sets. Kids burning away their youth with every real act of innocence.

I hope to see you all there. Lets burn it all Monday night.

Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-53480327703838099612008-08-12T12:57:00.000-07:002008-08-12T13:12:58.741-07:00The Kids Aren't All Right. Well our CD is almost out and i am about to get grey hairs over how much of a hassle the process of working with others can be. Up and down and away we go on a emotion roller coaster that has shaky turns and rusted rails. This has been all to rough on us. It really keeps me in check on why i decided to start my own label, i just ran out of patience for anyone else. But to become more established in this "industry" you must play the game with others. Especially ones that have been through this more than once. Maybe i say too much, maybe i am paranoid, maybe i am just a thorn in every ones side. But to me i can't feel any other way about this band other than its like a child we have all brought up from birth. There is so much history and trials that have been absorbed, some triumphed and some failed. But we wiped the dirt and blood off our knees and we trudged on. And to have other forces trying to grab our hand to help us along the way...you can't help to be stand-off'ish about that. Its like you want to say, "thanks but no thanks i can get up myself." But you know you are going to need that hand sooner or later.

Oh yeah,
big ups to Matthew Sinks for the promos. We have definitely sunk to a new low.

Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-24939954547328596572008-07-11T09:07:00.000-07:002008-07-11T11:59:50.978-07:00Recap: June 9th @The Pharoah's DenThis show was pretty decent. I think it would've gone a little better if 7 gen and Lie and Wait had not cancelled but I'm sure they had their reasons. I showed up a little late and was bummed to miss Thomas' and Eric's (of Restrained) new band Bad Lovers. I'm sure they were awesome though. Then OneXChoice and Cape Fear jumped on and rocked it. Good fuckin' stuff. Then it was time for our set. It was a little strange opening up the set with time for change but I still liked it. It gets a really energetic start out of everybody and I hope we can really start doing that more once the full length drops. The only thing bad about it is that it leaves us without a closer because Dried Tears doesn't seem to cut it, maybe we'll try ending with Let This Go next time and see how that pans out. The rest of the set was really fun though and I hope once the record comes out that more people start to respond to the new stuff. After us, Die Young played a really solid set as usual. Overall this show was cool it was like we were just playing to a room of friends which was pretty rad for us and probably not so rad for Die Young seeing as how they were on tour and everything but I'm sure they got paid, Andy and Nate are great dudes and would never stiff anybody, and I wish them the best of luck on the rest of their tour.

I don't really have a relevant pictures to post so here's a picture of some cool Microphones and another of little Bryan moshing like a robot.
On a side note my side band Wunami just started recording yesterday at Noise Pollution for a 4 song demo. If you haven't heard us check out some rough recordings over at myspace.com/wunami . We go back in today to finish up the drums and hopefully we'll have everything done within 2 weeks. I also think with the amount of stress of the tour booking and release building upon the regular daily bullshit, it was definetly worth the release of that night. The kids i think are still getting used to the new venue. Not much action from the crowd but i think in time and when our new material drops there will be more lively able bodies about.
the energy started to pick up towards the end of our set, it's like i said before. No one reconizes the new material and in the hopes time will bring a relavence to the material we are trying to display. Its difficult for a band that is branded by the slogans of "Hardcore" and "Straight Edge" to progress musically and yet to be reconized for it. Some people will not even bash an eye towards the fact a band in this community is trying something outside their normality. Not to be mistaken, we are not breaking any ground with this new record but fuck, we are trying something new for us. And we feel it more now than ever.
Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-2859360800027308482008-06-14T12:18:00.000-07:002008-06-15T01:42:26.663-07:00No Gods, One Master?
Okay so today we have somehow landed into the legendary Paul Miner's studio to finish the mastering process of our record. I honestly don't have a clue on what goes into mastering, let alone what it will do for our sound. But i am sure it can only be good, right? Well Eric (Noise Pollution Studio, you know. the guy that recorded us?) has came with us to sit in on the session. I am pretty sure he has an idea of what is going on because as of now Matt and I are just sitting here giggling and cracking jokes totally clueless on what to ask or listen for. Eric is pretty skied about the whole thing. Its funny because this whole time the only thing we see is that you see in the picture above. Not a whole lot of communication going on between us and Paul. It's kind of awkward really. We showed up late to the studio, Eric was already here and the mastering process has already started. So yeah basically our scenery is the the back of Paul's head. Slight movements of his head indicates to me that he likes our jams? Who the hell knows. We have heard from all of our friends that this was the joint to preform at but i haven't felt the energy that i felt in that room in a long while. It was reviving to feel that all over again. Rushing through my body like a surge of angst and happiness all at once. Thanks to miek Hellfish for letting me book the last Hellfish Warehouse ever. That place will be missed.Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-25633356562773544962008-05-22T16:19:00.000-07:002008-05-22T16:24:57.978-07:00Love is Life, Life is Pain.Well we are almost done with our recording. So close that is doesn't seem to feel like we are just about done with the whole thing. Tonight i step into the studio to record for the last time. Finishing up the final touches to what we believe is the expression of true self. Everything up until this point has been a mere image encompassing all that we feel and all that we know. Like a motion picture if you will. Shows from the past have become a blur, blurred images of kids yelling every verse to me seems to get absorbed into my faded memories. All these feeling from other and myself are now a unwritten collective which is now recorded to be placed on shelves and shrink wrapped. I think a lot of people out there have an idea but never really understand out hard and how exhausting it is to write a record based on personal events and emotions that are truthful to the bone. I am tired, these sessions have drained me out and we must begin the endeavor of touring to revitalisation.Andy IVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08918553706876192262noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963331498917031417.post-46250031134194813112008-03-29T18:58:00.000-07:002008-03-29T19:04:44.332-07:00Screaming Strings.
So today we are completing the guitar tracks for the full length. Now the closer we are approaching the end of this segment of these session my interest for all this material is getting revitalized. I see now why we have been taking so long on this record, and why we are so adamant on making sure why every note and every verse is set in place for perfection(in our eyes). I have mix feelings about this whole ordeal. What i mean for that is for so much time we've spent on working on this material i feel now that all this is getting wrapped up all so quickly.
